IMPACT - May Focus and Challenge


Welcome to the May issues of Focus and Challenge!

IMPACT - March Focus & Challenge

National Student Leadership Week (NSLW) occurs annually during the third week of April. To allow plenty of time for planning, this issue of Focus offers ideas to recognize your school’s student leaders during NSLW for their outstanding efforts, honorable achievements, and their leadership in representing their peers.

Challenge is designed for your student leaders.

With the longer daylight hours and warmer temperatures of spring come many opportunities to plan activities to support a good cause. This issue of Challenge highlights upcoming events that tackle such issues as bullying, safe teen driving, smoking, and more.

IMPACT - Focus and Challenge

One way to personalize the school environment is to let students know that their accomplishments are noted. This month’s issue of Focus offers ideas to develop a vibrant recognition program for academics, the arts, activities, and athletics that isn’t limited to bland certificates at an end of year ceremony.

The shortest month of the year occurs right in the middle of winter, when people are more inclined to stay home where it’s warm.  But there are lots of reasons to plan events in February and this month’s issue of Challenge features ideas to heat things up during the winter doldrums.

IMPACT - January Focus and Challenge

These monthly newsletters represent just one of the many and varied components of the Herff Jones IMPACT program.  We hope that you will find Focus and Challenge to be informative and helpful for both you and your students.

After the busy fall and holiday seasons, there aren’t as many exciting options looming on the calendar and it often seems as if the best of the year is behind you.  This month’s issue of Focus offers ideas to avoid letting members slip into a mid-year slump.

·  Challenge is designed for your student leaders.

With increased use of cell phones and smartphones, the old ways of reaching out to students through posters, announcements, and even emails are just not as effective. This issue of Challenge offers tips for engaging members through the medium they use most—their phone.

Many advisers choose to maintain a Focus and Challenge storage binder as a sure way to have these tools readily accessible to both teachers and students. We value your personal and professional commitment to your students and would appreciate your ideas and/or suggestions for future issues of Focus and Challenge.
